Pillinger Drive Track to remain shared use

After an 18 month trial, the Wellington Park Management Trust has resolved to keep the Pillinger Drive Track between Fern Tree Park and Pillinger Drive as shared use for cycling and walking.

The trial was conducted over an 18 month period from January 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.

Following consideration of online feedback from track users, on-site user survey results, usage data and track wear and erosion measurements, the Trust has resolved that the Pillinger Drive Track remain shared use for cycling and walking.

Signage will be installed at key locations (Park entry points, trailheads and track intersections) advising track users of the outcome of the trial.

In response to user comments, further improvements to the Pillinger Drive Track will be carried out. The rangers will also be implementing an education program to encourage consideration of other users, particularly on shared use tracks. They are also organising increased surveillance of shared use tracks by Authorised Officers of the Park. Please report any dangerous, offensive or disruptive behaviour to Ben on 0408 517 534.
