Tasmanian Cycle Tourism Fund Grants
Ten new projects have been approved for funding under the Tasmaniian Cycle Tourism Strategy's $6m cycle tourism fund.
The ten projects announced are:
- Meehan Range Entry Hub, Skill Park and Trail Network, Clarence City Council;
- Maydena Bike Park, Maydena Adventure Pty Ltd;
- Snug to Margate cycleway, Kingborough Council;
- Wellington Park Foothills, Hobart City council;
- Kate Reed and Holybank Trail Network, The Launceston Mountain Bike Club;
- Dial Range Strategic MTB Trail Plan, Cradle Coast Mountain Bike Club;
- Mt George Mountain Bike Trail, George Town Council;
- Tasmania MTB Marketing Program, Tourism Northern Tasmania;
- Bike Friendly Accreditation program, Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania;
- Oceania Road Racing Championships, Cycle Tasmania.
These announcements are on top of the $800,000 already announced for Stage 2 of the Maydena Bike Park that will establish Maydena as a leading mountain bike destination (resulting in an estimated tripling in total visitation and an additional 20 new FTE positions directly employed by the park), $1 million ivested in the St Helens Mountain Bike Trail Network, $800,000 in the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails and $600,000 in the Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Development.
